Not legal advice

  • USTM Guide is a reference project, not a law firm. Nothing on this site is legal advice and no attorney-client relationship is created by using it.
  • Trademark outcomes depend on facts an examining attorney, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, or a federal court evaluates case by case. A guide cannot see your specimen, your clearance search results, or the cited registrations in your Office Action.
  • When money or rights are genuinely at stake — responding to a final refusal, opposing another application, licensing a mark — hire a U.S.-licensed trademark attorney.

Calculator and dataset accuracy

  • Fee figures come from published USPTO schedules and 37 C.F.R. § 2.6. Datasets such as the Nice Classification list, surname list, and statute index are reproduced from public records for reference and may lag official releases.
  • Calculators are estimates only. Confirm the current amount at uspto.gov before paying, and treat our output as a starting figure rather than an invoice.

  • USTM Guide is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Filing always happens at uspto.gov, through Trademark Center.
